Al-Ilm
Terms of Service
About the services
Al-Ilm and its related services, including Ahl al-Ilm, Dawwin and Rasil, are independent projects provided for study, organisation and related use. Dawwin is currently a live, non-commercial service available to people aged 13 and over who create an account.
Dawwin is under active development. Features may be added, changed, temporarily unavailable or removed as the project evolves. Documentation may lag behind the current feature set.
Your account
You must be at least 13 years old to create or use a Dawwin account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details and recovery information secure and for activity carried out through your account. Do not share access in a way that compromises the security of the service or another person's information. Tell us through Dawwin feedback if you reasonably believe your account or the service has been compromised.
Your content
You remain responsible for content you upload, create, connect, save or publicly share. You must have the rights or permission needed to use that content and must not use the services to infringe another person's rights or break the law.
Al-Ilm does not claim ownership of your study notes or uploaded materials. You permit the service to store, process, copy and transmit your content only as reasonably necessary to operate the features you choose, including storage, backup, export, sharing and user-invoked integrations or AI-assisted features.
If you make a note public, anyone with its share link may be able to view it. Check the content before sharing it and do not publish personal, confidential or copyrighted material unless you have a lawful basis and any permission required to do so.
Acceptable use
Do not attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, systems or data; interfere with or overload the service; probe or bypass security controls; distribute malware; use the service for unlawful activity; or abuse third-party APIs, datasets or services made available through Al-Ilm.
Access may be restricted or suspended where reasonably necessary to protect users, the service or third-party systems, investigate misuse, comply with law or respond to a material breach of these terms.
Study, research and AI limitations
Dawwin is a study tool, not a teacher, religious authority, fatwa service, medical adviser, mental-health service or other professional adviser. Qur'an, Hadith, lexical, research and AI-assisted features should be checked against appropriate primary sources, teachers and qualified expertise.
AI-assisted features may generate proposals, summaries, relationships or study aids. They can be incomplete or wrong. You remain responsible for reviewing anything you choose to use or save.
Third-party services
Third-party software, data sources, APIs and integrations remain subject to their own licences, terms, privacy practices and availability. Al-Ilm does not claim ownership of third-party content or services merely because they are accessible through a project. A third-party change, outage, quota or withdrawal of access may affect a Dawwin feature without notice.
Availability, backups and changes
The services are provided on an evolving basis. No promise is made that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or preserved indefinitely. Keep independent copies of material you cannot afford to lose. Dawwin provides an account data export, but it is not a substitute for your own backup practice.
Al-Ilm may change the services or these terms as the project develops. Material changes to these terms will be reflected by updating the published terms and their last-updated date. If a future change materially affects paid or otherwise legally protected rights, any rights you have under applicable law remain unaffected.
Free use and optional support
Dawwin is currently intended to be free to use. Hosting, storage and third-party services have real costs and the sustainability model may change as usage grows. Optional one-off or recurring support helps with those costs and does not currently unlock additional Dawwin features.
Liability and legal rights
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Al-Ilm is not responsible for losses caused by reliance on generated study material, third-party content or services, temporary unavailability or loss of data where reasonable care has been taken. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability where the law does not allow that and nothing in these terms removes any mandatory rights you may have under applicable consumer or data-protection law.
You may delete your Dawwin account using the self-service control in security settings. Deletion is permanent and you should export anything you want to keep first.
By using Al-Ilm services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the services.
